It all began with a split-second decision. I was coming to the end of my college years and I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life really, I just knew I loved to read and to write, so I chose to pursue English. Well, why not?
After University I found a great position as a manager in an office. Not what I’d had in mind, but it paid the bills. I cycled through a few managerial jobs in some fantastic companies and did odd bits of writing in my spare time, but something wasn’t quite right. I didn’t want to work for someone else, I wanted the freedom to work for myself doing something I loved.
So, I decided to take the plunge. I scaled down my 9-5 and started to develop my own business; proofreading, editing and copywriting. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made and here I am, running Lyons Tales Editing Ltd.
My passion is to make your copy perfect, no matter what project you’re working on, so get in touch and I’ll be happy to help in any way I can.
Whether I’m reading, writing or talking, words are my happy place. I loved English Literature all throughout school and studied it at university, aiming to be an English teacher.
But as so often happens, life drifted in a different direction and I went into Health and Social Care instead. I loved looking after others, but I always knew that I would come back to my first love. It just took slightly longer than I originally thought.
Ten years and a lot of scribbling in my spare time later, I decided that I wanted to write for a living. I didn’t mind what, I just needed to be designing sentences and agonising over phrasing on a daily basis. So, I started work as a content writer and along with some freelance proofreading, I’ve finally managed to create a workday that I love!
Writing for Lyon’s Tales Editing is so enjoyable, as I get to write about what I love to do and hopefully help to encourage others in their writing too!
